LVT is a hard and brittle product and is based on petroleum (43%) and salt (57%). Adding plasticisers makes the LVT flexible. It is strong and lightweight. It can also be easily recycled, as it can be processed in many different ways..
Therdex LVT floors have true-to-life patterns and are available in Herringbone, Long Planks, Chevron and Tiles. All our products consist of 4 layers, namely: the PU layer, the wear layer, the film layer and the LVT backing.
The PU layer gives the plank extra protection and ensures the right matt-ness of LVT. The wear layer protects the floor from intensive use and makes it scratch-resistant. The film layer is the floor’s print. It reveals the colour and structure of the floor. The LVT backing is the lowest part of the floor. This backing provides the strength of the floor and the right sound absorption.
THE BIT YOU DON’T SEE ……… THE IMPORTANCE OF THE UNDERSIDE
Dryback LVT is a bonded floor. This bonded floor is sound dampening and very maintenance friendly. A levelled subfloor is very important for installing a dry-back floor. Dryback is suitable for intensive domestic use, but also for project applications.
Rigid Click is a smart mounting solution and eliminates the need for glue. The planks or tiles are easily clicked together with a reliable Uniclic click system. ( apologies for the Dutch .. but you get the gist !)
The floor is one of the most image-defining factors in the interior. There are many factors involved in making the right choice. When you opt for a Therdex LVT floor, you are getting a quality product in all respects in which sustainability plays a major role.
Phthalates are plasticisers. This group of chemicals are colourless, odourless viscous liquids. By adding a plasticiser to our LVT floors, the panels become more flexible, making it easier to lay the floor. The phthalates move through the space like condensation. When these phthalates become airborne, they can be harmful to your health. That’s why we chose to keep Therdex floors free of phthalates, and use organic plasticisers.
In order to produce a good LVT floor, we add plasticisers to LVT. Plasticisers are used to make plastics elastic. These plasticisers should not pose a risk to human health. Therefore, there are strict requirements for the use of a number of plasticisers. Therdex uses organic plasticisers, the so-called isosorbide plasticisers. This is an organic plasticiser made from sorbitol and fatty acids. By building the plasticisers from sustainable soybean oil, they are biodegradable. During the production process, this soybean oil is non-polluting. As a result, our floors are certified with the ECO+ certificate.

FloorScore tests and certifies all hard floors and floor adhesives. They ensure that the products meet the requirements for indoor air quality emissions. All Therdex floors are FloorScore certified for low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).
HPDC is an independent body that provides a record of the content of the materials. Through HPD, production reports what products are used and what risks consumers should be aware of. Therdex is in possession of ‘The Health Product Declaration’.
EPD is a comprehensive report, which details how a product affects the environment during its life cycle. The SPD is in accordance with the standards developed by ISO. All Therdex floors are third-party verified for UL Environment EPDs.
LEED stands for green buildings with the best building strategies. When building projects adequately meet the conditions, they are eligible for LEED certificates. Therdex is FloorScore, EPD and HPD certified. This means that by using Therdex floors in architectural and design projects, one can qualify for LEED.
Therdex LVT floors sufficiently meet the agBB/DIBt standard. A LVT floor that carries this quality mark guarantees that the floor has a low emission value.
Therdex uses an organic plasticiser based on soybean oil. This is a phthalate substitute. As a result, Therdex does not use phthalates and has therefore been awarded the Eco+ phthalate-free certificate. ECO+ PHTHALATE-FREE BIO-BASED CONTENT

With registered embossed floors, the tactile texture follows the design of the film layer. Are there any knots in the floor? Then you can actually feel these. Registered embossed gives a floor the most realistic and tangible texture.
PVC and laminate look pretty similar at first. Yet there is great difference between these two floors. PVC is made of plastic, laminate is made of hdf layers, which are compressed wood fibres.
A PVC floor is moisture resistant, reduces noise and can be applied in combination with underfloor heating. In addition, a PVC floor has a PU layer, this provides protection to the floor making a PVC floor last for years.
